This is the completed floor quilt for my soon to arrive new grand daughter. The pattern is an adaption of a pair of wall hangings by 'Teddyworks' This is my interpretation.
The slippers and sashes are made from satin ribbon, the tutus are from clear organza. The flowers on the tiaras are hand embroidered lazy daisies. The rhyme around the border is an inspiration from an old nursery rhyme which I shamelessly altered and added to, so as to suit myself. This one took some time to finish because things kept getting in the way and it was put on the back burner for a while. But it's all done now and I'm ready for the next one.

This is the doll I recieved from Guiliana. Very sweet. She is a hippie, complete with flowers on her face and arms, she has the cheesecloth shirt and very bright flares, the hippie sandals and dreadlocks. she even has her very own string bag. I love her, she reminds me of my youth. Thankyou Guiliana.

this is the doll I sent to Guiliana for the doll swap, Her name is Mildred. I think Guiliana was very brave to swap with me, it is my very first attempt at making a doll. I may have to make some more so that I can practice for the next swap.

teddy family

This is the second quilt/ crawler rug for the newly expected grandchildren.

It is a Sindy Rodenmayer pattern from Fatcat designs. I adapted it a little to

suit. Sindy had her design as just the nine snowball blocks and then the binding.

Because I wanted it larger (the finished size 46" sq.) I added the half snowball blocks for a border. This is the one I started on a recent 3 day retreat. I had it on the backburner for a couple of weeks and decided to pick it up again yesterday and finish it.

Now for the next two. Ahh the indecisions of it all. I have another Ella and Skysie stitchery design 'beary rosy and friends' I'm thinking maybe that one, along with another Sindy Rodenmayer design.

farmyard friends

This is the first quilt made for one of my 2 expected grandchildren, due 2 weeks apart in October.

It is an Ella and Skysie design. The stitchery was my first attempt at such a large backstitch project (my stem stitch is discusting, can't do it and probably never will attempt it again) and turned out not too bad.

I really thought I would get bored and toss it in the too hard basket, but surprisingly after I did the first one, I thought 'mmm not so bad after all', then by the third one I thought 'I can do this'

By the time I finished the 12th I was looking for more. The origional one was done in brown stitching and patches with mainly blues in the 4 patches. I changed it to pastels and did the stitchery in different pastel colors. I also added an extra patched border because I wanted it larger to be used as a cot quilt.

This is a gift I recieved from Donna (cheese) in our forums mystery swap.My camera doesn't do the colors justice. It is a lovely country color of greens, reds and goldy beige. The hand stitching is seeing to be believing, so small and so neat. I just wish I could do work like that,
